Matt currently works as a video editor cutting breaking news stories for the CBS Evening News and feature pieces for the CBS: This Morning Show.

About Matt*

Matt Kugelman studied filmmaking at the University of Southern California and Columbia College in Chicago.  Kugelman moved to New York to work in Michael Moore’s office a week after graduating to work as a research assistant during the production of Fahrenheit 9/11.  He was quickly promoted after editing a series of comedic short videos for Moore's speaking tour that received standing ovations across the country!

Soon after, Kugelman started working as the editor and photographer of the CBS News on Logo Show. In addition to producing a new show every day, he travelled throughout North America and produced numerous half-hour specials.

In 2010, Kugelman started working at the CBS Evening News editing breaking news with tight deadlines.  He was recruited in 2012, when the CBS: This Morning Show launched, to work as an editor on longer format feature stories.

Outside of editing full-time, he has studied under directors Todd Stephens, Peter Webber and producer Gareth Wiley.  He is currently in pre-production on his first feature film Hurricane Bianca, which he wrote and will direct.
